Should we stop making movies about WWII because the war is over? Should we forget holocaust too?

I suggest you visit your local library and start with a history book or two. Most of the garbage you will find on the Internet has no more worth than this blog, in terms of facts and history. I agree it was bad taste to put Holocaust and Abu-Ghraib on the same page.
What I mean is that civil liberties that we enjoy are very fragile. Our forces and secret services are violating civil rights and liberties of millions of people all around the world. They are very trained in that. The only thing that protects us from those methods to be used against us is the constitution, which Bush calls “goddam piece of paper”.
Remember, Hitler was democratically elected in German elections. There is a very small step from democracy to dictatorship.

Saddam was officially elected as well. So was Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Many others were ‘elected’ as well. First of all, Germany’s election process that brought Hitler to power, was not even close to our model. It is a total myth that Hitler rose to power in any way that resembles that of a U.S. president, therefore unwise of you to compare the elections in Germany which brought the rise of Nazism in Germany to that of the U.S. By the way, Republicans already held the majority in the House and Senate before Bush even started his presidential campaigns.
George W. Bush, despite what you may personally believe, was legitimately elected to power. All other Republicans that control both Houses of Congress were elected in legitimate elections as well. To compare our Constitutional electoral process to that of 1930’s Germany is absurd!
Basically you call Bush a dictator, because you disagree with his policy. Guess what? The majority of Americans elected him twice. How does a dictator gain then regain power in a democracy such as ours? Are we all evil Nazis too? To sum this up, Bush is not out to get you. He is out to get those who wish to inflict harm upon us, the Americans. Even you, as liberal as you are, are a concern of Mr. Bush, in terms of protecting you from harm. Bush has not hurt you. Our enemy has, probably not directly, but at least by showing you the promotion of terror and fear. In contrast Bush has been one to stand up to this type of bullying.
This new global WOT, is similar to the Cold War in many ways. The WOT has not seen nearly as many casualties yet, of course, but that is mainly due to precision weaponry that we did not have before Ronald Reagan spent $1,000,000,000,000 on development of smart weapons. The Gulf War was the first true unveiling of these new precision weapons.
Like the Cold War, the WOT is a war of ideology and uses intimidation as one of its main weapons. Remember, just like the Pacific War of WWII, this war was provoked by an attack. After the attack on 9/11, there were smaller attacks involving anthrax, on the east coast. This is where Iraq came into play.
Many already knew that Saddam had been developing anthrax as well as other chemical weapons for years. It was time to call him on it. Resolution after U.N. resolution failed to achieve anything, due to the impotence of the U.N. as an international body of anything worthwhile. Remember that the U.N. abandoned the people of Rwanda, letting 1,000,000 be slaughtered by militants with machetes. Of course, now a much similar situation is occurring in Sudan. Nevertheless, it was time that something actually happened [Iraq].
We never really wanted to go to war. We spent a year trying to get Saddam to comply with our requests; the same requests that Clinton made in 1998 to Saddam, before Saddam told Clinton to go screw himself. Clinton the issued a couple of days of missile attacks which destroyed some medicine and fertilizer factories.
After Saddam thumbed his nose at us, once again, we realized that we had to make good on our threats against him, or else we would only be empowering him even more.
The new Saddam Tapes have suggested that Saddam did have weapons programs, hidden form inspectors. Remember he kicked them out for six months before letting them back in. I’d say that six months was plenty of time for him to move his WMD. There is also now more evidence suggesting that he moved them to Syria, something which was said long ago actually.
There are currently Congressional hearings into these matters. It is no surprise that the mainstream press isn’t covering this, because there really isn’t a way to spin this into an anti-Bush scandal-type of story, since those are the only stories that the press likes to report nowadays (that or how brilliant and enlighted the Clintons are, and we should all bow before them in reverence).
We know that Saddam had WMD, because he used them. In the Saddam tapes, there is evidence that Iraq had been seeking nuclear weapons as recent as 2000. If this is in fact true, then the intelligence wasn’t bad after all.
I can’t say one way or the other about these tapes. There are thousands of pages of documents and hours of recordings -almost all untranslated yet. Perhaps once we get to the bottom of this, we will know the truth. That may take years, but we’ll find out. Regardless, Saddam is gone. He is evil. He actually did torture and murder innocents, including women and children. Saddam was/is very bad and had to go.
The most unfortunate thing about the resolutions and inspectors, is that the U.N. is completely worthless. The U.N. resolutions called for removal by force, in Saddam’s failure and refusal to comply. However, the U.N decided not to follow through with it’s resolutions. The oil for food scandal gives us a clear indication as to why. U.N. Secretary- General Kofi Annan’s son was directly involved.
The American people decided that we don’t need the U.N. to protect ourselves anyway. Congress gave President Bush authority to use force. The Senate approved of attacking Iraq, in bi-partisan fashion. In fact, many of the things that Bush has been accused of lying about, were said by many Democrats in the Senate long before Bush was ever elected. Also, president Clinton said many of the same details about Iraq’s WMD programs. (What we have nowadays is nothing more than political grandstanding. The dems are pissed because Bush won again. As far as they’re concerned they are entitled to power. Elections are meaningless to them. They must be because they continue day in, and day out, to insult and demean conservatives and Republicans –the people who elected Bush and the Congressional majority, with insidious attacks which suggest that Republicans are ‘corrupt’.)
After the end of the Gulf War, Saddam signed a treaty that he would destroy his weapons. He did destroy some, but kept most. He also sought after many other weapons and in the ten years since the Gulf War had research and development labs for WMD. We have found many of these. There wasn’t a warehouse full of weapons, just mainly documents that were found (so far). The bottomline is that he broke his end of the cease-fire agreement from the Gulf War. We removed him. End of story.
Now we continue to fight there, but the enemy isn’t Iraq. Iraq is on our side. We fight, along with Iraq, against al-Qaeda. It is hard to imagine, but the same thing happened in Afghanistan against the Soviets. You had Muslims from all over the world, traveling to fight for a Jihad. At the time we actually did help some of these warlords fight the Soviets, mainly because that was during the Cold War. Regardless of that almost 30 years ago, al-Qaeda is our enemy now. By the way, we are kicking butt. Also, most of the civilian casualties in Iraq as well as Afghanistan are due to terrorist attacks against fellow Muslims. These attacks prove that al-Qaeda is not really interested very much in Islam. They are interested in domination.
That is your history lesson for now. I hope this has helped to give you a bit of historical perspective on how things actually took place in chronological order. This of course, is the brief account of history’s anamnesis.

I never said that Bush is a dictator or he stole the elections. What you missed in my point is that I used Hitler example to show that democracy can slide to dictatorship.
It may take another 20 years. Bush is cheated a little bit on elections, including bringing those who voted against gay rights in the same day as presidential elections (in other words, he used the hate that millions of Americans have toward gays to get their votes). Bush is also recording your international phone calls, if it bothers you.
Next president will use the fear of terrorists to cheat against his opponent on elections, and he will read your e-mail. Terrorism is very powerful tool that Bush/Rove are actively using against civil liberties now, it’s a holy grail. They won elections on terrorism, even though they are not effectively fighting it at all.
Next after next president will use conputers to manipulate votes and he will track all your phone calls.
The grandson of Bush will monitor everything you do, icluding how exactly you vote during elections.

I have read over 6 books on the holocaust and they all basic say the same thing.Hitler was a very eveil man and all things he has done was his idea.He told all of the these horrible things and had nothing to back it up.But still people want to join in on the Nazi Party and kill as many jews as possible.They blamed the Jews for the failure of Germany.But after Hitler died they just all of sudden say oh the Jews are good, but they say that after all most half of the race is died. i think that the holocaust is soooo sad! Im sorry, but back in late ’08 someone called ‘Gabby’ said “I think the holocaust was a very difficult time for alot of people.” Who wouldn’t? The holocaust was the prosecution of not only Jews remember, but also 6 million Poles, Russians and Czechs. This sint just a few thousand. There were 30,000 people dying daily in one camp. Also 3/4 of all Jews were killed. Not only the ones in the camps suferred, but even the ones who were kept in hiding, like Anne Frank, the famous diarywriter.

The holocaust was just a really ad experience for every single person. I really don’t know why Hitler thought it was such a good idea to just kill a whole religion of peole just because they lost that damn war! I mean WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING?!?!?!?! I say that he didn’t think Jews were under him. I say, he had a horrible life experience & he decided to take it out on a bunch of people. I don’t hate him. I feel sorry for him, sorry that he had to do this to his self. He knew that he had a bunch of power & he abused it. The utterley worst way he could. He was an evil man fro doing this. Before, he was just a nice general that lost the war. Then he got so much fury an anger built inside him. HE’S BURNING IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is horrible. some of you guys agree some dont ,
hilter was a smart man to think of all the things he did to get around armys. but he was sick to kill so many innocent people. right now , im doing a project on WW2 about the holocaust , and its a very sad happening. im glad he killed himself , or maybe some of is wouldnt be here today!
